If you are an athlete recovering from an injury and ready to get back to activity, let Mark Powicki, PT, DPT, CSCS at Powicki Physical Therapy evaluate you and get you on the road to recovery. Our Evaluation Process Includes

  • Biomechanics- Biomechanics focuses on how the laws of physics apply to the human body. Learn how to perform based on the laws of physics.
  • This will include biomechanical variables in the kinematic sequence: For throwing athletes the focus will be on balance, stride length, timing, hip and shoulder separation, glove stabilization, tracking, release.


  • Functional Strength- It refers to the amount of strength required for the athlete to be able to compete at his/her highest level while reducing the incidence of injury during their sport/activity.


  • Nutrition / Hydration- They are critical factors for everyone and not specific to athletes to get the most out of our body during sports/exercise/activity etc. Learning how to properly fuel your bodies while staying hydrated is important not only to get the most out of our bodies during sports but for life in general.


  • Mindset: Having a positive mindset influences how you think, feel, behave and act or perform in any given situation and helps you perform your best in your sport or activity!


Sport-Specific Movement Analysis and Training

Other analysis and training includes:

  • Balance training: This sports rehabilitation technique is highly specialized and high functioning.
  • Neuromuscular re-education: This is a highly specialized form of therapeutic exercise and movement re-training that retrain movement, balance, coordination, strength, and posture.
  • Gait / Running Analysis: Through this technique, we restore your proper gait before training or re-training you on a jog, run, cut, and/or perform other sport-specific movements.
